What is a Webinar? Webinar is a short way to say web-based seminar. A webinar is a live and interactive seminar that will allow you to listen to the presenter, view the slides or other presentation media, and ask questions.

What is a Moderated Webinar? A Moderated Webinar is one where questions are submitted prior to the program and will be answered either within the presentation or asked by the moderator during the Question and Answer time at the end. Moderated Webinars are used when the subject matter can open the speaker up to questions that might raise problems if they are answered (e.g. practicing medicine over the internet). Questions that arise during the presentations can be asked via the chat facility of the webpage. The moderator will then ask the question of the speaker.

How do I join a Webinar? Focus on Rhabdo uses the ClickMeeting infrastructure, one where all you need to do is access a webpage. You do not need to download any software. Once logged into the 'webinar room' you will be able to hear the audio and see the visuals. If you do not have access to the internet, you can phone in with the phone number closest to you. The webpage, phone numbers and login information will be sent to you a few days prior to the program.)

Do I need any special equipment to participant in a Webinar? All you need is a computer with internet access and any modern browser. You can also participate via any telephone and gain access the audio portion of the program. We highly recommend using a headset (headphones with microphone) or, at a minimum, earphones or earbuds, to avoid inserting feedback noise into the program.

Can I ask questions of the presenter? This varies from program to program. With some programs we can open the floor to live questions from the audience. With others, we need to moderate it for a variety of reasons - primarily to avoid situations where responses may be interpreted as providing medical opinions. What happens once I am registered? Once you book a seat for the program you will receive an email confirming your registration. A few days prior to the program you will receive another email that will include the webpage (URL) information and call-in phone numbers.
